Agitágueda'21 has our Sustainable Art!
In 2019, Agitágueda received our Bubble Sky art installation, where thousands of translucent inflatable balloons decorated the sky of one of Águeda's main streets. This colorful installation is inspired by soap bubbles flying through the air.
In order to reuse this material, when the installation exhibition's ended, our team collected all the material and stored it in our warehouse.
In 2020, we carried out the entire process of reusing this material, which consists in piercing the inflatable balloons to deflate them, removing them from the steel cables, cutting the ends and in half. For the material to be even more flat, we use a thermal press.
In the end, it was just a matter of pressing this material into the shapes we wanted. As this material was reused to make a Sustainable Tropicália, in 2021, the shapes we chose were leaves of different sizes and shapes.
You can see the entire process in the video below and you can visit this new installation on Rua Dr. Adolfo Portela, in Águeda, until the end of September.
